History
Nicknamed the Speedy Hot-Shot Steam Freight Set by Lionel, this was a one-year-only set from 1952. Components of this set are four common freight cars.

From a historical point of view, 1952 was the year magne-traction was eliminated from all locomotives -- only to re-appear in 1953. For the 2056 locomotive, it's simply a 2046 locomotive without magne-traction. The 2056 is also the only postwar Santa-Fe style Hudson produced by Lionel without magne-traction.

Set 1479WS was one of only two sets ever offered by Lionel headed up by the 2056 steamer. The other 2056 set was a passenger car set numbered 1484W
