History
Set 1403 was produced for a single year -- 1946 -- and was available in two variations. The first as outfit 1403 which included a non-whistling tender and the second was outfit 1403W included a functional whistle in the tender. Interestingly, outfit # 1433 from 1947 is almost identical to this set. The only difference being the 1947 set included a black 221 steamer while this 1946 set has a gray steamer. Otherwise, all other freight cars and set components are the exact same.

This three-car freight set is lead by a 221 steam locomotive. This locomotive's unique design is loosely based upon the New York Central Henry Dreyfuss steamer.
